Unmotivated...

Apologies for letting this blog fall by the wayside lately. We did finally get a new scale at TOPS, to I'll make an effort to update more often.

In the meantime, I've had some bloodwork done - for an issue fairly unrelated to my weight -which included all the fun weight-related numbers.

My blood sugar was fine, as was my total cholesterol. However, my good cholesterol was too low, my bad cholesterol was too high and my triglycerides were high.

I started having oatmeal for breakfast during the week when I found out. We'll see if I can keep that up and how far it gets me.

1/2c quick-cooking rolled oats
1T sugar (if I'm eating healthfully, it has to taste good, else I can't choke it down)
1/2t cinnamon

Mix ingredients in pint Chinese soup container, bring to work. Fill to line with hot water (from the spigot on the coffeepot), stir, throw in microwave for one minute (or until it looks like it's going to bubble over). Bring to desk, allow to cool enough to eat, take bites between calls.

It doesn't stave off the rumblies until lunch, but I know I need to add some protein. And even with the sugar, it's only around 200 calories. A hard-boiled egg, perhaps? But I probably shouldn't have one every day. Any suggestions?
